About Stagepunch

Preparing a new generation of performing artists

About Us

Stagepunch was created as the ultimate tool for artists on their journey to apply for a performing arts degree. Our whole team went through this process at one point, so we truly know the ups and downs and the ins and outs. We are passionate about educating the artists of tomorrow.

Navigating the application process can be extremely difficult. There are so many deadlines and audition dates to keep track of. Different schools require different things for their auditions and portfolio reviews. How do I choose the right monologue? What do I write about in my essay? And the most important question of all: What school is the right one for me? Stagepunch will be your companion the entire way, from the initial school search all the way to your acceptance letter and beyond!

Founders

Megan Schadler
Co-Founder

Megan is a co-founder of Stagepunch. Inspired by her own journey to drama school, Megan wanted to help create a way to ease the stress of applying to college. She believes theatre education should leave student’s imagining endless possibilities for their future. Finding a program that does that is an individualized and personal process. There is no “best drama school in the world,” when every student’s needs are unique. In 2016, Megan graduated the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Since then, she’s worked as an actor, an international theatre producer, and playwright. Megan is primarily based in Brooklyn, New York where she lives with her husband and two cats.

Katie McHugh
Co-Founder

Katie has been an educator for over 20 years, mentoring hundreds of young artists on their journey. Her greatest passion is helping young artists realize their dreams. Two years ago, Katie and her team at Yonder Window Theatre Company felt the pull towards their educational roots and began the process of creating the ultimate tool for theatre artists. It is her hope that over the years, Stagepunch becomes a staple in the modern theatre circuit. Katie currently resides in Hudson, Canada with her husband and 3 year old daughter, traveling regularly to New York to teach and direct. She holds a BA in theatre from Florida State University and an MFA in Directing from The New School for Drama and is the founder and Artistic Director of Yonder Window Theatre Company. She has great ambitions for all her students and believes collaboration is the key to all good things in life.

Jonas Kobberdal
Co-Founder

Jonas is the Content King at Stagepunch. As one of the co-founders, he leads the research team, writes blog posts, and one time even got PUNCHED in the face for the good cause. Jonas is an actor and artist originally from Norway, currently a world traveler, and a New Yorker at heart. After getting rid of his remaining hair, he now spends most of his spare time channeling his inner Bruce Willis. Having studied for an acting degree himself, Jonas knows the many joys the right program can bring your life. He is passionate about supporting young artists who are chasing their dreams!
