About Jessica:

Best known for her role as Maria Ruiz on Netflix’s Orange is the new Black, the Brooklyn born and raised native is a graduate of New York’s High School of Performing Arts (“FAME”) and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Theatre: ‘Anna in the Tropics,’ Juliet in ‘Romeo and Juliet’ originated the role of Lupita in “Aliens with Extraordinary Skills.’ TV/Film credits include recurring/guest starring roles on CBS’ Person of Interest and NBC’s Law & Order, Pride and Glory with Colin Farrell; Illegal Tender produced by John Singleton and A Bread Factory with Tyne Daly and Janeane Garogalo. Jessica has traveled the world as a classical violinist and a Hardcore/Heavy Metal multi-instrumentalist and vocalist.

The New York Teen Shakespeare Intensive is a training program for young actors ages 15-19. The intensive delves deeply into Shakespeare’s works, characters, and language through a progressive curriculum of physical movement training and character development techniques. The intensive features a range of faculty that are masters in their field, working in the industry, and teaching at college levels.
